8/6/12 Daily Tip: Plato’s Advice

Plato said, “The life which is unexamined is not worth living.” Change is affected by your truth. Understanding and getting to the root of your problems is the only way to free yourself from a life of over eating, compulsive eating, and emotional eating. Truth frees you from the compulsions and the belief that food will shield you from your pain. When you begin to live your true self you will learn why you eat, when to eat, and what you need to eat. You will learn to fill your emotions with actions and words rather than food. You will learn how to manage your emotions rather than allowing food to manage your emotions. Your relationships with your partner, your children, and friends will become deeper, stronger, and you will feel less vulnerable and more connected to them. The examination and exploration of your underlying fears will lead you to your true self and the process of acceptance will begin with trust, trust in yourself not the food.
